Tata Curvv EV to be launched in 2024

The Curvv EV is expected to go up against the new Mahindra XUV.e8, the Maruti Suzuki eVX and its Toyota version, the Hyundai Creta EV, and the Skoda and VW EVs that cost less than 20 lakh rupees. The Curvv concept was first shown in 2022. The Nexon and Nexon EV have been given facelifts that include parts of the design from the Curvv concept. This is meant to simplify the general styling philosophy while still having individual differences. A new 1.5L turbo GDI gasoline engine with 168 bhp and 280 Nm could power the ICE Curvv; a CNG version is also not out of the question. Tata has not yet said what the exact specs of the Curvv are.

The electric version of the Curvv could boast a powerful battery pack with 50 to 60 kWh of power, promising a remarkable range of 450 to 500 km. The ICE variants are set to feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, with the possibility of a new 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, as revealed at the Auto Expo. The 1.5-liter engine could also be adapted to function as a diesel engine for the Curvv. All engines are expected to offer both manual and automatic transmissions. Tata has announced a 2024 release for the Curvv, a feasible timeline given the current progress. The Curvv EV could be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs.22 lakh.
