Maruti e Vitara Arrives at Dealerships Ahead of Launch, Set to Rival Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric

Maruti Suzuki’s highly anticipated electric SUV, the e Vitara, has started arriving at dealerships across the country, signaling its imminent launch. The e Vitara, which was showcased in its production-ready avatar at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, is Maruti’s first electric vehicle for the Indian market and is poised to take on competitors like the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Nexon EV, and Mahindra BE 05.

Design and Variants
The e Vitara, spotted in a top-spec Arctic White shade with a Bluish Black roof, is one of the 10 color options available for the SUV. It will be offered in three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha, catering to a wide range of customers. The design is sleek and modern, with a focus on aerodynamics and efficiency, making it a standout in the electric SUV segment.

Powertrain and Range
The e Vitara is built on Maruti’s all-new Heartect-e platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles. It will come with two battery pack options: a 49 kWh unit and a 61 kWh unit, both featuring LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries supplied by BYD. The 49 kWh variant is equipped with a 144 hp motor, while the 61 kWh variant boasts a 174 hp motor, delivering 189 Nm of torque in both configurations. For those seeking more power, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) version will offer 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

The 61 kWh battery promises an impressive range of over 500 km on a single charge, making it a strong contender in the EV space. The 49 kWh variant, while offering a slightly lower range, still provides a competitive option for urban commuters.

Safety and Features
Safety is a key focus for the e Vitara, which comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), including lane-keep assist, lane departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. The SUV also features seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), an electronic parking brake, and AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System).

While the e Vitara has undergone internal crash tests, including frontal and side-impact evaluations, it has yet to be rated by safety programs like Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP. However, Maruti’s recent track record with the new-generation Dzire, which scored a 5-star rating in Global NCAP, bodes well for the e Vitara’s safety credentials.

Market Competition and Launch Details
The e Vitara is set to compete in the rapidly growing electric SUV segment, taking on established players like the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric. Unofficial bookings for the e Vitara are already underway, and the official price reveal is expected in the coming months.

With its combination of stylish design, advanced technology, and impressive range, the Maruti e Vitara is poised to make a significant impact in the Indian EV market. As it arrives at dealerships, anticipation is building for what could be a game-changer in the electric vehicle space.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Maruti e Vitara as it gears up for its official launch!
