Tesla may start producing EVs in Mexico

The investment could be $5 Billion biggest making it the highest deal in terms of electric vehicle manufacturing.

The electric vehicle maker could soon begin producing EVs in Mexico. According to reports, Tesla is waiting for final permits for factory construction. The facility is in Nuevo Leon, near to the US-Mexico border. Construction of the plant could start in this month itself.

While Tesla has not confirmed, the announcement came from Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Garcia, according to Reuters. ” They are waiting for final permits. Once that’s done they can start hopefully by this month. I think by next year, in 2024 there will be first autos.” he said.

Last week Elon Musk had announced that Tesla has selected Mexico for its next giga factory. The investment is touted to be world’s biggest for electric vehicle, worth $5 Billion approx.

  2. Netherlands
  3. China
  4. Canada
  5. Mexico(Next Giga Factory)
