Bill Gates took to Instagram sharing a video of him driving Mahindra Treo, he also talked about EVs and need for sustainable transportation.
Bill Gates is on his visit to India meeting several policy makers, change makers across various cities in the country. Recently he was seen driving Mahindra Treo electric rickshaw. The video of him driving electric rickshaw was shared on social platforms. Prior to that he also me met his college friend and business tycoon Anand Mahindra.
The video shared his experience of driving the electric rickshaw. It said ‘ We are going to need to reinvent the way we do everything from agriculture to transportation to get on the road to a zero-carbon world.’ In addition to that Bill Gates praised India and its innovation capabilities. ” I drove an electric rickshaw, capable of traveling up to 131km (about 81 miles) and carrying up to 4 people. It’s inspiring seeing companies like Mahindra contribute to the decarbonization of the transportation industry.” the video post added.
India has been seeing a host of electric vehicles being developed and sold in the country. Responding to the video, Anand Mahindra replied in his own style on Twitter.
